Sync your library with EndNote Online

  • NB: If you have not already registered for your EndNote online account, you will not be able to sync your library until the upgrade to EndNote 21 is available - please contact the library for more information.
  • EndNote allows you to synchronise your desktop library to your EndNote Online account.
  • You can use the sync feature to download your library from your online account to another computer or device.
  • You can only sync one library at a time.
  • Do not move or rename your EndNote library files after they are synchronized as this will break the link to the Sync target library.
  • Any changes you make to your EndNote library will sync and be reflected in you EndNote library on other devices.
  • You can find information about syncing with EndNote online here: Using Sync
  • Watch the video below for instructions on how to use the sync feature.

Need to access EndNote library via both a Mac and PC?

EndNote libraries are cross-platform compatible. Following the EndNote end user licence agreement, this means:

  • You can install EndNote on up to three computers for personal use
  • Those computers can be any combination of Mac and Windows machines
  • By creating or logging into and EndNote online account (under preferences > Sync), that individual can sync their library across three computers, as well as access it through EndNote Online and the iPad app.
