A special issue or special section of a journal:
Articles in special issues focus on the same topic. Contributions are often invited by the journal's editors. Special sections are like special issues but smaller. They appear within a regular issue and may or may not have a title.
To reference a single article in a special issue or special section:
- Follow the format for a journal article (below). The title of the special section or issue does not appear in the reference. If "S" appears in the page number(s), then include as written in the publication
- Some publishers include an "S" in issue numbers for special issues. In the reference, write the issue number exactly as shown in the publication.

Author(s) – last name, initial(s) - use & for multiple authors. (Year). Title of journal article. Journal Name – italicised, Volume – italicised(Issue or number), Page number(s). DOI address OR URL (if no DOI available)
