- This is an uncapped agreement. There is no limit to the number of articles that can be published open access (OA).

Key points
- Articles accepted from 1 January 2025 are eligible for open access publishing under this agreement
- 01/01/2025 is the start date of the CAUL agreement with Emerald publishing. The article acceptance date determines eligibility
- The agreement allows authors from participating institutions to publish in most of Emerald's hybrid and gold journals without the need for any transactional open access article processing charge (APC). Please check that your chosen journal is included in the titles list
- The only excluded title is "The CASE Journal". This title is exclusively made up of business case studies, which includes teaching notes for each published case. The Teaching Notes cannot be made open access with this title excluded from the agreement
- Responsible corresponding authors must use their institutional email address when submitting an article for publication, using a personal email address may result in delayed approval of the article or the article may not be approved to be published open access under the terms of the agreement
- Eligible author means corresponding author whose primary affiliation is with a consortium member as stated in the Eligible Content The corresponding author is the eligible author
- Hybrid journals that "flip" to OA during the course of this agreement will remain available for OA publishing for the duration of the agreement
- Article approvals are managed by the publisher via Emerald Submit in partnership with ChronosHub
