Key points
- Articles accepted after January 1, 2024 are eligible for open access under this agreement
- The agreement includes most of Springer Nature's hybrid journals
- The agreement does not include the Nature portfolio journals e.g. Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Climate Change
- Authors from participating institutions publishing in Springer Nature's hybrid journals can utilize the article processing charge (APC) waiver
- Corresponding authors must use their institutional email address and include a participating institution as one of their affiliations to benefit from this agreement and will be identified by:
- institutional affiliation
- email address
- IP address
- Hybrid journals that "flip" to OA during the course of this agreement will remain available for OA publishing for the duration of the agreement
- Springer Nature journals do charge additional fees such as page and/or colour fees not covered by the APC waiver. Check the journal's submission guidelines for other fees and charges.
Article types
The following article types are eligible for open access under this agreement:
- original paper (original research, original article, original paper or research paper)
- review paper (standard article, interpreting previously published results).
- brief communications (short article submitted for rapid publication that exhibits the same structure as a standard article)
- continuing education (article forming integral part of further education, usually medical).
There are no exclusions.
