Australian statistics

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency and an official source of independent, reliable information. They provide key statistics on a broad range of topics including trade, finance, employment, industry, tourism, technology, housing, population and regional trends.

The ABS is also the home of Australia's census data (detailed statistics about housing and population).

MicroData & TableBuilder:

Most ABS publications can be accessed on the ABS website free of charge.  However, there are sophisticated data extraction tools that assist in building more detailed data sets and are only accessible to SCU students and staff after you have registered. To register to use the tools TableBuilder and Microdata, all new users must register for an account using your SCU email address.
