Kits are only for use in the Clinic or on Clinical Placement.
Clinical Educators can borrow kits from the Lismore and Gold Coast libraries. Coffs Harbour kits are held by the labs.
To borrow a kit, the Clinical Educator is required to email library@scu.edu.au with at least 24 hours notice before the day of collection, with the following details:
- Name of the Clinical Educator collecting the kit/s *:
- Full title of the kit/s:
- Date and time of collection:
- Campus for collection (Lismore or Gold Coast):
* Exception: if the Clinical Educator is external and the kit will not be used at the SCU Health Clinic, the placement student can collect the kit on behalf of the Clinical Educator. For the student to collect the kit, we require email notification by their Clinical Educator advising
- The student's name:
- Date and time of collection:
- A statement confirm that the kit will be used off campus.
Library staff:
- Retrieve available kit/s, check out to the requesting Clinical Educator, place on the Click and Collect shelf in time for collection.
- Cannot place a holds on kits.
- Can assist with searching the Library catalogue to confirm the availability of a kit. If assistance is required, send an email to library@scu.edu.au or contact the Library via our Chat Service.
Clinical Educators are responsible for:
- Searching the Library catalogue to confirm availability of a kit.
- Ensuring kits are complete both upon collection and prior to returning to the library.
- Returning kits within the loan period: loans are for 3 days and are due by 5pm on the third day of the loan.
- Co-ordinating availability. Library staff can assist with searching the catalogue to confirm availability. Students will be referred to the Clinical Educator if a kit is not available.
To return a kit you are required to phone the Library and arrange for a Library staff member to receive your return in person.
