Encyclopaedias can give you a basic introduction to a particular topic.The following are key resources you can use to find legal commentary:

Halsbury's Laws of Australia (online)
This link will take you to the home page of the Lexis Advance Pacific database. Once there, click on the link to 'Halsbury's Laws of Australia' in the Publications list to search or browse the encyclopaedia. SCU login required.
The Laws of Australia
A legal encyclopaedia available in the Westlaw AU database. SCU login required.

Please go to the new database Lexis Advance Pacific to access this title.

Go to Westlaw AU.
Click on The Laws of Australia under Search Templates.
The Laws of Australia search form will be displayed.
Enter search terms in the Free Text search box.
If you know the subject area, check the box next to your subject area in the left hand panel.
Click on Search.
If required, you can refine your results by entering additional keywords in the Refine your Search box, or by selecting a relevant option from the Filter your Search section (click on the + sign next to the relevant filter).
